Yara is not being difficult. The plan broke, and she was still standing in it.

Yara knows how the day goes, and that is how she keeps the world manageable. The lunch hall is too loud. The lights buzz and nobody else can hear it. She knows every kind of whale. Then one morning the plan changes with no warning, and the day falls over.

This is book 2 of six. All six are set in the same classroom, 2B, with the same six children. In every other book Yara is just someone in the background. In this one, you see the world from the inside.
